Establishment of School ICT Labs and Health Data Points- UCC Support through RCDF Stakeholders’ Workshop held on 3rd Dec 2007 at Hotel Africana, Kampala.
Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) took a decision to support the establishment of ICT facilities to 80 selected government rural secondary schools and 43 district health facilities under its Rural Communications Development Programme during the financial year 2007/2008.
In that regard, the Commission in conjunction with the Ministries of Health and Education held a Stakeholders’ Workshop for the Directors of District Health Services and secondary school head teachers on 3rd Dec 2007 at Hotel Africana, Kampala.
The workshop was intended to sensitive participants about the RCDF funding system and how their projects will be operationalised.
SchoolNet Uganda has been implementing a UCC-RCDF supported School-Based Telecentre Project.
Having noted the good performance of the RCDF project implemented by SchoolNet Uganda, UCC thought it beneficial for SchoolNet Uganda to share its experience with the new stakeholders during the workshop.
SchoolNet Uganda was requested to make a presentation about implementation of RCDF project using the following structure as a guiding format:
• Project setup and operational issues.
• Successes
• Challenges
• Future plans
• Any useful information.
